On how I can begin to orient myself...No. 5 "ask yourself a question: if I stopped trying to prove something, what direction would actually make sense for me?" Has me reflecting a lot of my most recent decisions. Thank you Melody.

Oh good! It was eye opening for me as well.

This is such an important distinction. In a 100-year life, sustainability matters more than sheer output. Discipline without alignment just accelerates burnout — but when direction fits your wiring, effort compounds over decades. That’s the real long-game advantage.

It’s the key differentiator right?! I was uber productive and yet so uninspired in my past roles. It’s nice to pair my productivity with a passion now. Total game changer.

Melody, I've been around Chemical Engineers my entire life and this is what they sound like when they get bored with what they're doing.

They make great money, but they question if this is all Life has for them.

It’s an important question to explore because we only get one life, and I personally decided to not live it feeling that way forever. My goal is to show people a practical way to explore what another path could look like, because feeling empty kills our true potential and certainly robs us of fulfillment.

This really resonates. Discipline can keep us moving, but it can’t tell us whether we’re moving in the right direction. That distinction between capability and alignment is powerful..

Thanks for writing this up, Melody! This was the main reason I was unfulfilled in my previous career and had to make a change. Super important to listen to those early warning signs/friction you feel.

I’m so glad it spoke to you! It was so hard for me to step back from the execution long enough to know what to do when those signs were there. I’m so glad we both figured it out though!
